The Brunei Darussalam Food Authority (BDFA) is looking for a qualified and dedicated Veterinarian to join our team as a Technical Associate. Requirements & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in Veterinary Health field.
  • Knowledge or experience in food legislations is an advantage.
  • Experience in drafting clear, concise and structured scientific reports.
  • Can work independently and as a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities are, but not limited to:

 

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration with local food businesses particularly relating to veterinary public health aspects to ensure food industry compliance.
  • Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records of inspections, audits and investigations
  • Collect, collate and analyze operational data to establish trends for monthly reports and statistics
  • Develop and update relevant food safety policies, guidelines and standard operating procedures.
  • Develop and conduct training programs related to food safety.
  • Involved in other related tasks as directed by Head of Department as and when necessary.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Science s or Agricultural Sciences or relevant field.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable on food safety related to food of plant origin including pesticide residues such as analysis and results interpretation, and other relevant tasks.
  • Knowledge or experience in food legislation or food safety policies is an advantage.
  • Experience in drafting clear, concise and structured scientific reports.
  • Can work independently and as a team.
  • Have excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities are, but not limited to:

  • Act as resource person for food safety issues particularly on food of plant origin including pesticide residues.
  • Conduct food safety surveillance and monitoring activities.
  • Collect, collate and analyze operational data to establish trends for monthly reports and statistics
  • Develop and update relevant food safety policies, guidelines and standard operating procedures.
  • Develop and conduct training programs related to food safety.
  • Involved in other related tasks as directed by Head of Department as and when necessary.
