Job brief
The Brunei Darussalam Food Authority (BDFA) is seeking a highly competent and experienced individual to join the organisation as Senior Manager, Corporate Operations. This position requires a mature professional with strong leadership capabilities, particularly in financial management and accounting, to oversee corporate services, finance, and procurement functions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring sound financial governance, efficient corporate operations, and compliance with established policies and regulations.
Requirements and skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or any relevant field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 8 – 10 years of proven working experience, with substantial exposure to financial management and accounting at a senior level.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, audit processes, and internal controls.
- Experience in procurement management and corporate services oversight.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in private sector or statutory bodies will be an advantage.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Oversee and manage the organisation’s financial management functions, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and audit coordination.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, financial regulations, and internal financial policies and procedures.
- Strengthen financial governance, internal controls, and risk management frameworks.
- Provide financial analysis and advice to senior management to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Manage and oversee procurement activities, including planning, tender processes, contract management, and vendor performance to ensure value for money and transparency.
- Provide strategic oversight of corporate services, including IT systems, facilities management, asset management, and general administration.
- Develop, implement, and review relevant policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures related to finance, procurement, and corporate services.
- Lead, supervise, and develop officers under the Corporate Operations portfolio to ensure effective performance and accountability.
- Prepare and submit accurate reports to senior management, committees, and the Board as required.
- Undertake other related tasks as directed by the Chief Operating Officer as and when necessary.
