Brunei Darussalam Food Authority (BDFA) recently represented Brunei Darussalam as an observer in the Asia-Pacific Food Regulatory Authority Summit (APFRAS) 2025, held in Jeju, Republic of Korea.

Under the theme “Explore towards Sustainable Food Safety”, APFRAS 2025 brought together senior representatives of food regulatory authorities in the Asia-Pacific region to address common challenges in food regulation, such as global food policy, emerging food technology, and safe trade. The meeting also discussed strengthening of regional cooperation in food regulation and harmonisation of standards, including Maximum Residue Limit (MRL) of chemicals in food and novel food.
