BASIC INVESTIGATION TRAINING FOR ENFORCEMENT WORKFORCE BRUNEI DARUSSALAM FOOD AUTHORITY

The Brunei Darussalam Food Authority conducted a three-day training on Basic Investigation Training for the Authority’s enforcement team with trainers and expertise from the Criminal Investigation Department, Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF).

28 officers and personnel participated in the training which was aimed to introduce investigation procedures, understanding the processes undertaken and the different types of information required for investigation and legal action. The training also shared best practices of the RBPF to be adapted in implementing and enforcing the laws implemented by BDFA.

Among the topics discussed were the roles within the investigation team, digital evidence handling, as well as techniques in statement taking. A table-top exercise was also conducted to test the participants’ response and understanding, prompting discussions between the trainers and participants, as well as further collaboration between RBPF and BDFA.

The basic investigation training course concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony, with the attendance of the Senior Superintendent, Tuan Hamydon bin Haji Ibrahim, Head of Major Crime Investigation Division, Criminal Investigation Department, as the Guest of Honor. Also present was the Acting Chief Executive Officer BDFA, Dayang Siti Khadizah binti Haji Abd Latiff.  Certificates of completion were presented to the training participants by the Guest of Honor.  As an appreciation to the RBPF, the Acting Chief Executive Officer BDFA, presented a token of appreciation to the Guest of Honor and certificates of appreciation to the RBPF trainers.
